This comes as no shock to me. Rafael Nadal has made Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list. He’s listed under the Heroes & Icons section along with Michelle Obama, Tiger Woods, George Clooney and Sarah Palin…just to name a few.
In an article written by Serena Williams, she has this to say about Nadal:
I have never seen such tenacity, such ambition, such fight and such honor go into every shot as when I watch Rafael Nadal.
What is it about Nadal that makes him stand above the crowd?
What is so unusual about Rafa (which is what he likes to be called) is that unlike many of his fellow Spaniards, he can dominate on all surfaces. He has never lost a match on the French Open’s clay, but he also has a Wimbledon title to his name, as well as one from the Australian Open. This year he’s the only man able to go for a true Grand Slam.
Yep, he is definitely one of the tennis greats and is a joy to watch on the court. I am looking forward to seeing what he does with the rest of this tennis season.
