rants of the day: interesting findings

Hello everyone, the week is almost done and with it comes some interesting news and blog post findings to amuse use. Check them out.

To start things up, Microsoft has published online a very -weird- Zune ad (as most bloggers have been calling it). It appears to me that the idea is all about sharing ?? Although it isn’t very clear really. Check it out anyways. Although the graphics are impressive indeed, it doesn’t have much in relation to the Zune brand. It is puzzling, to say the least.

I found this via TrendHunter and TecheBlog. Go check out some comments over at TecheBlog, easy market research.

Over to some news reported at the Toronto Star. The headline reads, “Marketers fined for false weight-loss claims”. You don’t even have to read the whole article to actually make up your mind. Seems to be that many marketers continue to believe that by tricking consumers into buying their stuff they will make a profitable business…Not really! At least not in these times.

In my opinion it’s a good think they’re being fined for lying. It will keep many other marketers from doing. Eventually we will all learn the lesson, even if it’s through the hard, fined, way.

Also on TrendHunterI found a link to a great website. It’s called “Color in Motion”,and it’s basically a -very- interactive color psychology (communication, symbolism) descriptor. You can select some of the most highly used colors and learn a lot about them. Very useful for advertisers and branding marketers. If you’re interested in color psychology and its applications to marketing check out Chromophilia, a great color blog.
