Interference in the main event by Randy Orton cost John Cena a likely win over Carlito. After doing a five knuckle shuffle Orton grabbed Cena on the ropes which allowed Carlito to counter with the pinfall. Following the win Carlito spit apple at Cena further insulting the champion.
In two other noteworthy developments Cody Rhodes earned a permanent slot on the Raw roster with his win and Jerry “The King” Lawler defeated King Booker in their match over the use of the title king. I am not sure what affect, if any this will have or if they will develop this into an outright feud but because Lawler won I would suspect this to continue. This could be used to set up a return of “The King of King’s” Triple H at SummerSlam although I would expect him to become involved with the winner of the main event between Orton and Cena.
