Recycled Wine & Beer Glasses

August 10, 2008 by Colleen Coplick

I am almost incapable of keeping beer and wine glasses in my house. I’m constantly breaking them, cracking them, or knocking them over.

These new glasses, handmade in Colombia from recycled windshields, have a slight green tinge. Ideally, they’re stronger because it’s safety glass fer chrissake! It’s designed to keep people inside cars! Ideally, this means if I bounce one off the hardwood floors here, that it’ll survive! (I hope!)

Available from Uncommon Goods for $20-$22 a pair. (Image source, Uncrate)

  1. Hey, I saw some great glasses actually made out of recycled WINE BOTTLES in a store called Agnes Jean in Squamish! They’re pretty cool…

Just wanted say thanks for the post and let your readers know that we have tons of other great recycled/reclaimed items that are truly unique. In response to Lisa’s comment — UncommonGoods also carries glasses (Protect our Earth/Air/Water series) made of old wine bottles. Check them out!
