According to a very short article in June’s Men’s Health Magazine, the caffeine in Red Bull just isn’t enough to give gym goers enough stimulation.
“affeine is a proven training aid. Still, drinking a Red Bull won’t provide enough stimulation to effect your workouts, contrary to the belief of almost 45 percent of gymgoers. In a Canadian study, 15 fit men who drank as much as two cans of the energy drink an hour prior to a sprint workout did not experience a performance boost. The beverage just doesn’t provide enough of a jolt.
A can has 77 milligrams of caffeine, a third of what’s needed to up performance.” Men’s Health Magazine.
If that’s only one third I honestly don’ think I would want to drink 3 cans to get a “boost” before a workout. I think it would make me puke. If you’re eating right, Sleeping well, drinking plenty of water and taking a good multi-vitamin then do you really need a “boost”? Besides that, there are studies that show that caffeine is not all that great for you if you’re trying to put on mass.
