Red Ring of Death Hits My Brother-in-Law

December 2, 2007 by Jason Bean

I’m not my brother-in-law’s favorite person right now. He and his wife entertained my kids this evening while we were attending a Christmas party. My son took Madden 2007 and a wireless controller with him so they could play together.

He pops the disc in and gets the red-ring-of-death. He totally freaked out because he’s been playing loads of hours on Halo 3 online. Not a happy camper. He immediately called Xbox Support (1-800-4MY-XBOX) and his shipping box is on its way.

He says they told him it would be here by Wednesday, but that seems pretty fast to me.

Now we’ve got two people’s experience I can closely track. We’ll keep you posted.

  1. [...] My brother-in-law ignored the free shipping from Microsoft. When he received his shipping box he packed up his console and overnighted it back to Microsoft. Don’t worry, we’re having an intervention for him later during the holidays.
