Release Days
With the release of the PS3 and Wii news has, of course, been focusing on the new console’s debut. So FPS news has been skimpy of some. Though Gears of War taking over the #1 spot on Xbox Live, kicking Halo 2 down a notch has come as no surprise. I spent an entire day with some friends playing GoW. It’s good. Really good.
Tycho on Penny-Arcade mentions the Rainbow 6 Vegas demo. Tycho and Gabe are usually spot on with their commentary as they do this as a service for gamers, rather than for money or anyone pulling strings as if their bodies were connected to pieces of wood a la marionette. While not a review by any means he does hit some highlights and downpoints. The accompanying comic is amusing as well.
Since the PS3 hit the shelves and people hit eachother with it and as Ingrid points out over at Play-Girlz, paid $15k for, this means that Resistance: Fall of Man is soon to be played by those of us with large disposable incomes. I’ve already been seening Ad spots for it on TV so it should be interesting to see how the PS3’s “big” game does. Assuming, of course, that you acquired your PS3 and did not immediately sell it on ebay.
So hopefully that covers the highlights and you can go back to chainsawing your enemies in half with that most delightful of guns in Gears of War.
I wasn’t personally crazy enough to wait in line for a new PS3 but my BIL was and I can’t wait to go visit him now. I hope it lives up to all the hype!
I don’t know anyone who got one and I’ve read reports that atleast 10% of all those that were sold ended up on ebay, which is a surprisingly low percentage. I would have thought they were all on the auction block.
But congrats to your BIL and I hope for his sake that it does live up to the hype. You’ll have to get him Resistance:Fall of Man for Christmas and let us know how it is ;)
