RetireSafe, a group that represents nearly half a million seniors in the United States, is firmly against the proposed rationing of top quality hospital care for patients that are on Medicare.
Thair Phillips, the President of RetireSafe, made his feelings known to the Senate Finance Committee.
Said Phillips: “The health care reform bill now being considered in the Finance Committee would deny Medicare beneficiaries access to the best in hospital care by limiting the operation and growth of physician hospitals.”
While health care has been an extremely hot issue as of late, it is especially hot for retirees and people close to the age of retirement. Many opponents of the proposed health care reform have talked about “death panels” that will allegedly decide which patients die and which patients live.
“This outrage must not be allowed to stand,” said Phillips, “and Medicare beneficiaries must act now, before it’s too late.”
