If you want to retire abroad, New Zealand is an intriguing option. The beautiful country is located in the Southern Hemisphere near Australia. Why is retiring in New Zealand a good idea?

1. English
If you are reading this, chances are that you speak English rather well. With English the official language in New Zealand, that is definitely a plus.

2. Beautiful Country
New Zealand is commonly graded as one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. If you love sports like fishing and golf, you’ll love New Zealand.

3. Cost of Living
In recent years, the cost of living in New Zealand has plummeted — especially outside of the high-traffic areas of the country.

4. Many Jobs
New Zealand is one of the few countries anywhere that has a healthy amount of jobs. As an outside, getting a job in New Zealand isn’t as difficult as it is in most countries.

5. Government Support
Their health care system is government supported. Plus, if you live there for a certain amount of time, you can qualify to receive Social Security.
