Review: Kai Vodka

When I first heard about Kai Lychee Vodka, I was quite excited. I’m not a big fan of Lychee nuts themselves (too slimy for me) but I like the flavour of a lychee liquor.
When the samples arrived for me to try, it was actually rather hard to determine the difference between the Lychee Vodka and regular vodka. I sipped it straight first and then tried the remaining 3/4 of an ounce (they sent the little airplane style bottles) in my traditional style of vodka soda. Sure, it tasted slightly different, but I couldn’t really pinpoint anything personally.
I tried the standard Kai Vodka next, and again, it was fine. Nice. I didn’t feel like anything really set it apart from other vodkas.
Overall recommendation? Sure, Kai Vodka is probably worth a try. After all, you might taste something I missed and if you do, please let me know!

I just found this post about Kai. I can’t agree with you more. It just tastes like vodka. If you want real lychee flavor in your cocktail, go with Lichido liquer. It’s so good.
I was in Miami this past weekend and was so happy to learn that the Fontainebleau Hotel carried KAI Vodka. I have Celiac Disease and since KAI is gluten-free, I was able to enjoy myself with two wonderful martinis!! I had a Yellow Blossom Martini and a Lychee Cosmo; the first was made with regular KAI Vodka and the second was made with the KAI Lychee Cosmo. We went to The Standard for an after party and I also found KAI Vodka and KAI Lychee Vodka there…what a relief!! I think you both need to give it another try as I disagree with you about your comments. The KAI Lychee tastes just like a fresh lychee fruit and the regular KAI Vodka had a nice, light, white-pepper finish.
