Review: Martini & Rossi Prosecco

I just talked about Champagne and sparkling wine, and on the heels of that post, I sampled some Martini & Rossi Prosecco. I’ve only had one Prosecco before and I can’t remember which one (helpful, I know). Prosecco is a great alternative to champagne when you’re looking for something bubbly but don’t want to splurge on a Dom Perignon or Veuve Clicquot (my personal favourite).
The Martini & Rossi Prosecco was delightful. It wasn’t too dry, and had a nice crisp flavour that I enjoyed.
Although I had it “straight”, this would be perfect for champagne cocktails like a Mimosa or Bellini. 2008 is also the 60th Anniversary of the Bellini.
The Bellini made its debut at the infamous Harry’s Bar in Venice, Italy and was first concocted by bartender Guiseppe Cipriani. When Harry’s opened in New York it brought the popular drink with it. Consisting of white pureed peaches, Prosecco Italian sparkling wine, and fresh fruit – it has become a timeless classic drink!

Top with chilled Martini & Rossi Prosecco and serve.
