Revver Shares $1M in First Year

Congratulations to Revver on paying out $1,000,000 to users in their first year. Note that they have two levels of revenue sharing: 20% off the top for embedders, and 50% of what’s left for producers.
Revver was one of the first video-sharing sites to share revenue, hence the name. I’m glad to see them announce numbers validating this Long Tail business model for independent video creators and distributors.
Now if only they would use payment gateways other than PayPal. A lot of video creation and distribution lies unmonetized in countries outside PayPal’s reach — not the least of which is the ancestral land of Revver star Christine “Happy Slip” Gambito, a YouTube bailiwick.
