Rex Grossman returns, but Devin Hester runs away

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Devin Hester sets the return record
The Bears are who we thought they are!
This was a huge game for Rex Grossman. Brian Griese was getting 50% of the practice snaps. Rex knew his job was on the line. Well, he took care of that with 13 for 23 passing and 2 touchdowns.
The Bears win 42 – 27 over the St. Louis Rams.
It was good for Chicago that Rex had a good game. They will need better quarterback play for Chicago to win in the playoffs or even think of the Super Bowl. (Squibster full disclosure – not sure why, but Rex is on my Fantasy Football team riding the pine)
This game makes the Bears 11 – 2 and… ties them with San Diego for the best record. That will give the Bears a first round bye in the playoffs.
There was a whole lot more going on in this game than Rex Grossman. That whole lot was an NFL kickoff return record.
Devin can blaze
Devin Hester returned two kicks for touchdowns to give him 6 on the season, which is a new NFL record. That man has blazing speed.
The second one was at the 7:22 mark when the game was still in doubt at 35 to 20. St. Louis had just scored and appeared to be going for the on-side kick. Instead they kicked deep and Devin Hester ran it all the way back!
Roman Gabriel to Jack Snow
Hey, St. Louis was at this game, too. Torry Holt had two touchdowns receiving from Marc Bulger to set an NFL record for touchdowns by the same quarterback and receiver. Back in the day, Roman Gabriel and Jack Snow combined for 37 touchdowns.
Roman Gabriel was one of my favorite quarterbacks from a long time ago. Check out what the Squibster had to say about Roman Gabriel.
Torry and Marc upped that to 38. (Squibster full disclosure – Torry is on my fantasy football team and was riding the pine this week. What was your intrepid author thinking?)
Brian Urlacher on Lance Briggs
Brian Urlacher talked about restructuring his contract so the Bears can resign 25 year old linebacker Lance Briggs. Lance will be a Free Agent at the end of the year. The Bears may have to make him a Franchise player.
Lance responded with 9 solo tackles. (Squibster full disclosure – Lance is on my Fantasy Football team)
Coach Lovie Smith, the lowest paid coach around, won his second division title in a row. The first time that has happened since the days of Mike Ditka.
NFL Football Fan Question Can Rex play good enough for the Bears defense to get them in the Super Bowl? Is anyone faster on a football field than Devin Hester?
As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

Rex Grossman is the MAN I am so glad he’s back and I know they are too!
Only have one special request.
Please bring your Bears and destroy my Lions, so we can finally get rid of matt Millen and get the first draft pick at the same time.
You must destroy them or Matt will stay and draft another wide receiver with attitude problems.
People forget Rex has only played in 8 games before this year.
Doesn’t Devin Harris play for the Dallas Mavericks? :p
Editor Squibster note: The ever sharp Aaron pointed out a mistake in the heading over the picture.
The heading has been corrected.
Busted. maybe 2 am is not a good time to blog?
Devin Harris is an excellent guard though. Watched him destroy my Spartys of MSU in college, when he played for the Badgers. The man can shoot the rock!
” Cmon Rex Who !!!!!!
