Talk about your sour grapes. Australia’s Robert Allenby, playing for the Presidents Cup International team, called out American Anthony Kim after the 24-year-old shortly after Kim had bested Allenby in singles play. Allenby made reference to an unconfirmed report that Kim had been out until 4 a.m. on Saturday night, and that he had returned to the hotel “sideways.” Allenby then went on to call Kim “the current John Daly,” and the “loosest cannon” on the U.S. team.

Kim, of course, denied the report, and hoped that Allenby was joking.
“I’m actually pretty surprised that he said that,” Kim said. “I was in tip-top shape coming into today.”
Maybe Allenby needs to take Kim’s advice to heart when he suggested the Australian “needs to go practice a little bit.” Allenby later admitted his words came out of frustration at losing to Kim.
