Roddick Ousts Nishikori

The rising star of Japan’s tennis hopes couldn’t make it past Andy Roddick yesterday in the SAP Open. Kei Nishikori lost in two sets 6-2, 6-4 to the world number six.

Roddick was aggressive in the victory, aggressive to the point where he was shouting things at his opponent. Things like, “Stick me with it the next time” after a point had been played.

Afterwards, Roddick said he was “very impressed with him [Nishikori].” However, later Roddick said there “was nothing personal in it. He’s probably not that happy with me for doing that. But I don’t need any young friends.” All that was in reference to Nishikori’s game and Roddick’s attempts to get inside his head a bit.

Those rude Americans. Seriously.
