Roddick stepping up at Kooyong

Andy Roddick has stepped up his game a bit, winning a 6-3, 6-3 match over Marat Safin to set himself up for a final at Kooyong.

Thank goodness there is still hope for my boy Roddick. I’ve always been a sucker for underdogs and lost causes. As long as Roger Federer is around and not playing on clay, everyone else is an underdog…so there is lots of fodder for my weakness.

Is Roddick prepping for a run this season? Pooh, who knows. The guy seems to have a mental block when it comes to Federer so I’m going to guess that if Federer is ever in Roddick’s way at a tournament – and let’s face it, Federer is most often in the way – then Roddick’s hopes are pretty much dashed.

I’ll still be rooting for my boy but that’s about all I can do from my living room couch.

I really hope he does well in the OPen, its time to see the fall of Federer. I cant stand seeing him win all the time, its just boring!

I agree, Kristen – Federer has been on top for a long time. I think there are some players peaking though who can really make things interesting for men’s tennis this year. Yay!!
