Roddick wins Dubai

The nice thing about backing a losing horse is that when he wins, it shoots the excitement factor through the roof. And in some cases, if you back the losing horse long enough, eventually he’s going to win.

Andy Roddick won the Dubai Open yesterday with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory over unseeded Feliciano Lopez in the finals. Impressive enough to come from a set down to win a tournament. Even more impressive however, was Roddick’s path to his 25th career title.

Roddick beat No. 2 Rafael Nadal and the Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic earlier in the tournament.

Also of note was the title came on the heels of the split between Roddick and Jimmy Connors, his coach of 19 months.
