Roger Clemens: “This Isn’t a Zoo!”

February 27, 2008 by Kori Ellis

Roger Clemens, as some of you may be aware, is doing some pitching for the Houston Astros. He’s basically throwing the ball around with the minor leaguers. His son Koby Clemens is one of those Astros minor leaguers.

Obviously, the media has been all over Clemens ever since his much publicized steroids meeting on Capitol Hill. When a photographer got too close for comfort, Clemens unleashed this classic line

“This isn’t a zoo!”

Classic. I’m not sure what the photographer’s reaction was but I have to imagine he chuckled a bit.

Camel SpitThat leads to the question, if Clemens were a zoo animal, what animal would he be? I’m thinking hyena. Clemens had that crazy hyena look in his eyes when he was going after McNamee on Capital Hill. Or perhaps a spitting camel since Clemens hasn’t backed down from hitting batters to keep them honest.

What animal do you think Clemens would be in a zoo? Leave your comments.
