J. Heidi Roizen has been elected to TiVo’s board of directors. TiVo, the company famous for its work with digital video recorders, says that Roizen is the ninth independent director.
Roizen is currently the CEO of Skinny Little Things, a startup she founded in the beginning of 2008. Prior to Skinny Little Things, she worked at Mobius Venture Capital as the managing director.
Said Tom Rogers, TiVo’s CEO: “The breadth and depth of experience within the technology industry and entrepreneurial community that Heidi brings to our Board is invaluable and will have an immediate impact on TiVo’s strategic plans to further define the way television is consumed. Heidi is well respected and highly regarded for her successful career as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, corporate executive, and public and private company board member, which lends itself extremely well to TiVo’s innovative culture and pioneering approach to developing the ultimate in-home TV entertainment experience. We are pleased to welcome someone with Heidi’s reputation and experience to our Board.”
TiVo originally sold its digital video recorders in the United States but their products are now available in Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Taiwan. In other recent news, TiVo and Blockbuster announced a partnership that will allow the two companies to work together.
