Roogoo Twisted Towers came out earlier this week for the Nintendo Wii and it looks like a lot of fun. From the screenshots, the game looks like it’s got the type of bright colors and unusual environments that you typically see with a Nintendo game. If the title sounds familiar, though, it’s because this game is based on the Roogoo for Xbox Live Arcade. ![]()
Players will take on the role of Roogoo, whose mission is to defeat the Meemoo’s plans to abuse the powers of the Magical Meteors that one powered the magical, happy land planet of Roo (yeah, I know. The plot is a little odd sounding). If you fail, the Meemoo will take control and plunge the land into darkness.
The game features include:
- 100+ levels spread across 10 environments
- Cooperative campaign mode throughout the game
- “Party Play” mode allows four players to join in for minigames
- 8 creative level bosses including “The Giant Squid”
- Ability to connect to the DS version to unlock additional levels
Of course, players will be expected to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to complete the tasks and puzzles which, I think, adds a whole new dimension to gaming. There are also a series of short story segments throughout the game and, while some people enjoy those, I really don’t. It drove me nuts in Super Mario Paper and I’m sure it would drive me crazy again. Oh well, it will be worth it if the game is good. Check out these screenshots (click to enlarge):
