Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays has been the focal point of trade rumors as of late. On Sunday, he showed exactly why so many teams wouldn’t love to have him. Against the Boston Red Sox, he carried the Blue Jays to a 3-1 victory.
Halladay pitched all nine innings and gave up only one earned run and six hits hits while striking out seven batters. The performance gave him a 11-3 record and a 2.73 ERA.
The Blue Jays got their runs thanks to Rob Barajas. Barajas hit a two RBI double in the second inning. In the six inning, he hit a sac fly to knock in his third run of the game.
In the last eight seasons, Halladay now has at least 11 wins in seven of those years. In his 11 year career with the Blue Jays, the 32-year-old Halladay was 141 wins, 69 losses and a 3.47 ERA.
Teams that could reportedly trade for Halladay include the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels.
