Rubik’s 360, The Ball Version Of A Rubik’s Cube

Over here at Play Gadgets, we all have tried to conquer the Rubik’s Cube but none has ever succeeded. To make it more challenging for us, the inventor of Rubik’s Cube, Ernő Rubik, is proud to debut a spherical, 3D mechanical puzzle called the Rubik’s 360. We wonder if we’ll break (literally) this Rubik’s puzzle again.

The puzzle involves changing the position of six balls, each a different color, in a central sphere to six compartments in the outer sphere. This is done by shaking them through a middle sphere that only has two holes. There are three spheres that make up the puzzle. Unlike the original Rubik’s Cube, there seem to be no algorithms and, in general, less math associated with this puzzle.

This roundy puzzle toy will be selling for $23.40 in July or August and may be the next big thing since Xbox 360.
