Rumor Mill: Fallout 3 for iPhone?

Looks like Bethesda is sniffing around the iPhone as a possible future platform for Fallout 3, though there’s no indication that an iPhone version will be released any time soon. Word from the higher ups at Bethesda tells us that the company has been actively and repeatedly working on something for the Apple smartphone but haven’t been happy with the results.
“I think that the world of Fallout is unique enough that it could work on any platform. I think some of the things we do like VATS, I think that could translate to any platform, particularly the iPhone,” Bethesda’s Todd Howard told Joystiq.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it does happen one day. The iPhone versions that we’ve designed and said ‘Ehh, we don’t think we’re going to do that right now,’ there are … there are a lot of them.”
Apple recently announced the new and improved iPhone 3G S which should see improved graphics from the current iPhone 3G and original iPhone. This means that we should be on the lookout for bigger and better offerings from video game developers as the iPhone moves into position alongside the PSP and Nintendo DS.
