Rumor Mill: Witcher, Rise of the White Wolf Cancelled

The latest in rumors spinning around the rumor mill is that the console version of The Witcher, Rise of the White Wolf has been thrown into the pit of despair, possibly never to be heard from again. In other words: cancelled. Now, this information remains in the realm of rumor for now, so take it with a grain of salt.
But according to GameBanshee and also Polygamia, the economic meltdown has forced the cancellation. Staff working on the project has also been (allegedly) laid off. However, it’s said that Witcher 2 is still in the “all systems go” stage, so no worries with that.
Official word on this matter is currently pending, but this would be a big disappointment if it proves to be true.
