Rundll32.exe in Windows Vista

As I have previously written, I have a habit of looking into my task manager and inspect the programs running in the background. Even if I am aware of all the applications I install, I am still surprised to see a lot of applications that I do not need running in the background.
Rundll32.exe is an application you would see in the task manager, however; this is a necessary windows operating system application.
What is it?
Like the svchost.exe, the rundll32.exe run assemblies (DLLs) that various applications are sharing code with. You shouldn’t worry about this application as long as the running app is the one located here – C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe.
That should stop you from trying to kill this application, again, just make sure the running rundll32.exe is the same from the location above.
