San Diego Fires 6

I woke up this morning to a delightful fog. Unfortunately, it doesn’t extend inland far enough to be of help to the last gasp of our horrendous fires. Although almost everyone can go home, the folks on Palomar Mountain, where this historic Hale Telescope is, our still out and the mountain is burning. And yes, it’s threatening the telescope.
Julian, a delightful mountain community that we almost lost to the Cedar Fire is also threatened.
News is scanty because most of the drama is over. But the political drama is increasing. It looks like we lost something like 1,200 homes, although that count will go up as authorities are able to do true assessments.
Air quality is still awful, but that’s to be expected.
I’m feeling relieved and sad and… well, it’s difficult to know exactly what I’m feeling about it all.
Write well and often,

Hello Anne,
I know what you mean that you don’t know just how to feel. Event though my property is not at risk, all of us in San Diego will feel the effects from sewer and water issues to health concerns. Our infrastructure has received a serious blow and no one will escape the effects. It does equalize all human beings regardless of status. Now we need to use our creative thinking to get ahead of the next challenges. Many good people will help; others will take advantange. Therapy of words will assist all.
