WRITERS SCAB
Reply to: scab@craigslist.org
Date: 2007-12-07, 3:55PM PSTI’m a freelance writer, ready to write. Tell me where to cross the picket lines, and I’ll come extra early. I’ll dress up as a Security Guard so I won’t havany trouble.
Again, I’m ready to write, and I’m cheap.

Jacob is a scab. And Jacob is cheap. He may be a man of very few words but I can tell this: Jacob is probably someone I wouldn’t like.
I have my own opinion about strikes and unions and I won’t get into all that here. I understand why people strike and the importance of getting fair wages and benefits. Despite my feelings regarding strikes and unions, I do respect picket lines. Jacob, on the other hand, seems to see them as an opportunity. I don’t need a lawsuit so I won’t post Jacob’s last initial or email or tell you that I found his ad in the Los Angeles section of Craigslist’s December 7th resumes. That would be wrong.

It kind of sounds like a setup. Like anyone who answers the ad will find themselves the subject of bad publicity, extra picketing etc.
Or maybe I just possess a criminal mind.
No, I like howyou think…
I am appalled at the stupid stories about how writers on the line are eating prawns, etc. It’s all relative–if someone else is getting rich at your expense, try to do something about it.
Craigs and the newbie employers, if you can call them that, who appear there with their $5 offers is one reason we started The Writer’s Catablog. http://www.writerscatablog.com.
Someone wrote this morning and told us to put Aretha on there–R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
