Scribblenauts – solve a puzzle your way!

Are you tired of solving puzzles in one dimensional ways where developers force you to solve a puzzle in ways that they want you to, without being to use your creative brain to figure out the puzzles on your own? Well, apparently so is publisher 5th Cell. They’re so tired of you having to solve problems their way that they’ve come up with a very interesting way to remedy the problem.

So, here’s how it works. You write something, it comes to life. You use that something to help you solve problems. Sounds weird yet cool, right? Well, 5th Cell’s new Nintendo DS game, Scribblenauts, does just what I’ve describe. See, the game puts you in situations where you have to get a star to beat a level. In order to get that star, you have to tell your Nintendo DS what to do. So, you’ll write a word, like “football”, a football appears on your screen and BLAMO. You throw the football you’ve just created at the star and beat your level.

Now, that’s just cool. Check out what I mean in the trailer below:

There is no permanent release date for Scribblenauts yet, but we can expect it sometime this fall.

Doesn’t it look awesome? I can’t wait to see what it makes when I write in words like “toilet”!
