Introduction of Week 3 : Week 3 began with Mr. Trump asking Gene Simmons to join Empresario and lead the women’s team to VICTORY! Which of course didn’t happen, but I am getting ahead of myself.
The Task Week 3: Kodak Mobile Printing Experience
Each team was given an air-stream mobile bus, Kodak cameras, the Easy Share All-In-One printers to create a mobile printing experience to introduce this new product to customers. The criteria for determining the winning team are: originality, brand messaging and profit.
Empresario’s planning session began with Gene Simmons introducing himself as the “benevolent dictator”. Yuck! What is that and how in the world do you call that leadership? Arrogance is not a great quality for leading others. Gene Simmons expected the ladies to do what he said, PERIOD. In the end, it was his downfall and the reason the ladies lost, but I digress. Gene Simmons decided not to go to the client meeting with Kodak. He sent two women and in the end, the client didn’t like them and they left the meeting without getting the critical information.
Hydra on the other hand, led by Tito Ortiz did go to the client meeting and walked away with three critical indicators that client would be looking for in the final presentation. The three key indicators:
*Get people thinking about INK
*INK Revolution
*Affordable Premium INK
The men had a bit of a disaster when the conference table collapsed and spilled coffee into the laptop they held all of the graphics for their mobile bus. In the end, they pulled a rabbit out of the hat and despite their sloppy work, pulled out a VICTORY!
In the end, the client meeting proved to be the critical piece in determing success for the teams.
The Results: Hydra won, Empresario lost. The men’s team should have lost. Tito Ortiz didn’t lead. Stephen Baldwin took over and in the end, they won because Gene Simmons walked around in his arrogance. It was all about Gene and not about the client, the task or the team. In the end Gene Simmons was fired by Mr. Trump. Gene Simmons sacrificed himself so that Nellie Gallan did not get fired.
