SEGA Aims for Hardcore Gamers … On the Wii

Most (all?) hardcore gamers will probably tell you that the Wii is not a hardcore gamer console. Even developers seem to target the Wii for more casual, family-type games. But that doesn’t mean some developers don’t see other opportunities. SEGA, for example, seems to think that the Wii is a barren field of opportunity when it comes to more “hardcore” titles.
The Wii versions of Resident Evil 4 did quite well, as did RedSteel (I can vouch for the fact that I own both of them), so SEGA might be on to something. The next title in their lineup is MadWorld for the Wii, and they’ve got high hopes that this will hit it big.
Do you think SEGA is on to something or should they just let the big boys (Sony and Microsoft) handle the hardcore games? Personally, I think anything aimed at the Wii is going to put money in people’s pockets.
