Semi-pro league apparently all over the map

So while doing research for a story I’m working on locally, I came across the Women’s Blue-Chip Basketball League.

The league bills itself as a semi-professional league with the goal of providing higher-level competition and conditioning for current players. The WBCBL has more than 20 teams — primarily throughout the south and southeast — with hopes of expanding to 30 teams by next season.

In addition to playing teams throughout the league, the barnstormers play college teams as well. Some teams — such as the Dallas Lady Diesel — are coming through San Antonio to play the UT-San Antonio Roadrunners before their season gets underway.

Looking for a player you followed in college? Well, she might be in this league. A brief perusal of some random rosters has found former NCAA, Euroleague and NAIA players on various teams.
