Serena Williams Gets Wax Figure

Just in time for the 2009 U.S. Open, the New York City location of Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum unveiled a wax figure in the likeness of tennis great, Serena Williams.  The younger Williams sister was on-hand for the big reveal and I can’t help but wonder how it feels to stand next to a wax replica of yourself.

First of all, do you think this thing really looks like Serena?  I think the body came out a lot better than the face, to be honest.  The hair wasn’t too hard to replicate but I don’t like the lips at all.  There have been times when I’ve seen a wax figure and had to do a double take but this is clearly not human.

It seems to me that some locations of Madame Tussaud’s are better than others, if that makes any sense, and the NYC one isn’t too hot from the other celeb figures I’ve seen.
