Sex Tops YouTube Zeitgeist

The video above is YouTube’s current top search result for the query sex. Unfortunately, it’s just two hot chicks making out — with clothes on, to boot.

I feel cheated. I’m sticking with RedTube for real streaming porn.

Since YouTube is the world’s number one online video destination, its search terms make a pretty good reflection of the online video zeitgeist. Compete.com releases the top YouTube search queries for March. Unsurprisingly, sex is on top.

I’m suddenly reminded of the most viewed YouTube video of all time: Hot Hot Sex. Somewhere a spammer is copying these keywords into the tags of a YouTube video.

    I see viral video possibilities here, Eric. Have you considered comedy sketches starring popular married couples in the YouTube community?

    Hadn’t really given much thought to a comedy series. I’ve got a pretty nice “studio like” setup and had considered doing a more serious podcast. I’ve got another commercial in the works to go along with the other one. I’m waiting for some footage opportunities and will probably complete it in a week or two. I’m certainly wanting to push the envelope so to speak, but at the same time we don’t want to push it so far that we lose are target market.
