Sharapova Withdraws from Olympics

The number three-ranked women’s tennis player in the world, Maria Sharapova withdrew from the Beijing Games yesterday, due to a shoulder injury. Her team stated that the tennis star had sustained two small tears in the tendon of her right shoulder. Sharapova, a Russian, has won three grand slam individual titles in her career.
