Share Your Freelancer’s Playlist

Usually, when I’m working I prefer quiet to noise. If the TV is on, I get sucked in to old episodes of Full House. Radio isn’t much better, especially because the DJs in my area are hilarious.

The one thing I will have as background noise, occasionally, is music. I thought it would be fun today to share your favorite work playlist! I have a special list of songs that are my favorites as I’m writing. Yours might change daily. In any case, leave a comment telling us what makes your “I’m hard at work” playlist right now! Here’s mine:

  1. “Use Somebody” – Kings of Leon

  2. “Gives you Hell” – All American Rejects
  3. “The Bartender Song” – Rehab
  4. “Into the Ocean” – Blue October
  5. “Ain’t Coming Home” – Silvertide
  6. “Creep” – Radiohead
  7. “Santeria” – Sublime
  8. “I Have a Feeling” – Black Eyed Peas
  9. “Crack a Bottle” – Eminem
  10. “Lucky” – Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat
  11. “Allison Road” – Gin Blossoms (hehe)
  12. “Accidentally in Love” – Counting Crows
  13. “Womanizer” – Britney Spears
  14. “Feel Good” – Gorillaz
  15. “Pink” – Aerosmith

Err…I have random, ecclectic taste and like pop music too much! Ok, your turn. Share you playlists if you dare!

I can’t write without music. Period. End of statement. For editing I need quiet but to get the words out I need something else going into my head so I’m not concentrating on those words. I don’t have a specific list at the moment, but all music when I’m writing (and usually when I’m not) is film music. I can’t write to anything with words (remember, there are too many in my head already LOL). I even tried opera for a while, at least the words were in a foreign language. But I found myself getting wrapped up in the drama of the music. So, even though I do the same thing with film music much of the time, since it’s my preferred music of choice, I find it soothing. Writing would be a lot more lonely without the power of music.
