Sharing cars for the business traveller

Yesterday I mentioned car sharing, and I should also mention that these car share operations are also excellent for the business traveller, particularly those who travel often to the same city. I have a number of clients from outside of Philadelphia who end up with appointments in the city, but who also need to travel out to the ‘burbs. In the past, they would rent a car and stay in some hotel outside of the city center, fighting with center city traffic and narrow streets when they needed to come into town. At night they found themselves stuck in the ‘burbs, which are pleasant places to live but not necessarily overly exciting or convenient for the out-of-town traveller.

Now, thanks to car sharing, they can set up camp in the city and remain car-free until they actually need one. In many instances, that’s not all too often, saving money on the rental and gas as well.
