NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Tough to be Shaun

Shaun AlexanderIt has been a long time coming, but Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck may both return for Sunday’s game against San Francisco.

This would be a huge boost to the Seahawk fortunes.

Shaun still has a break in his foot, but

“The diagnostics of the injury don’t compute with what the player is actually feeling,” Holmgren said. “For the last three weeks, Shaun has experienced very little pain.

“It’s my understanding that they’re going to let him test this in practice because he does not feel any pain.” source

Seattle has had capable backups and maintains a 2 game lead on the division. Both Seneca Wallace and Maurice Morris have played fantastic as backups.

Wallace is 2-1 as the starter, and played well enough to win the game at Kansas City in his first start.

Morris has put together back-to-back 100-yard rushing efforts, and averaged 5.1 yards per carry against the Raiders and Rams. source

As fans, you have to keep in mind that this team played in the Super Bowl last year and many experts picked them to return to that game this year. Now they have put together a 6 – 3 season and did it often without their starting quarterback, running back, and wide receiver (Bobby Engram).

Last years Seahawks were the highest scoring team in the league with 452 points.

NFL Weekly Poll Last week it was 4 – 0 in favor of Seattle to beat St. Louis and they did 24 – 22. Vote for the winner of San Diego vs. Denver in this week’s poll at the right sidebar.

NFL Football Fan Question If Matt and Shaun return, will Seattle win it all?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.
