Shaun Tait: Young and Exhausted

After kick-ass performances in the World Cup and succeeding ODI tournaments, Tait is the last man you’d think who could retire. Yes, not an actual retirement, a sabbatical, but this is disheartening nonetheless, especially since he was so good against the New Zealanders.
As per Cricket Australia, Shaun Tait was suffering from “physical and emotional exhaustion and will be rested from cricket while he undergoes a programme designed to facilitate his return to cricket.”
Doesn’t quite add up to me, seriously. At 24, with a good record in the year that went by, he had lots to look forward to.
Whatever forced him to take this decision, I hope he overcomes the problems and strikes back in real time. He’s great for the sport (okay, some may disagree with this last one)

Dinnie,
As I understand Tait is depressed. His constant injuries and fight for fitness made him question himself whether it is worth it.
BTW, as an Indian fan I conclude that the way our batsmen dealt with him at Perth furthered his depression. :)
Hmm, you could be right, Ottayan. I wonder why Shane Bond never became depressed.
Oh yea…how can I fuhget….GENES!
