Shawn Marion Has Had Enough of Uncontested Dunks

Shawn Marion wants to be traded. Now, what on Earth could make a reasonably sane basketball player want to stop playing with Steve Nash? The Matrix himself answers:
“I’m tired of hearing my name in trades,” Marion said by phone from his Chicago home. “I love my fans in Phoenix, but I think it’s time for me to move on.”
To recap, the Phoenix Suns were thinking about trading Shawn Marion. Shawn Marion didn’t like that the Phoenix Suns were thinking about trading him. Naturally, Shawn Marion now wants the Phoenix Suns to trade him because he’s mad that the Phoenix Suns were thinking about trading him. That sentence is about to eat itself.
Really though, is it really that insulting for someone to attempt to trade you for Kevin Garnett? So insulting that you’d want to leave a team that’s perfectly built for your skill set? So insulting that you don’t want Steve Nash setting you up for bunnies for 48 minutes a game? Oh well, he probably has a good plan for where he wants to end up.
So where would he like to go?
The Lakers look good to him.
“You have a great organization, great ownership there with the Lakers. I don’t see no problems with playing there,” Marion told The Sporting News.
Oh, I see, he’s delusional.

Jesus… I feel like he already deserves my respect. Is he in the HOF yet?
We all talk about Steve Nash how great he is!! He did not become MVP until he got to PHX, and I think Mr Marion had a big part in both MVP years because Amare was out hurt a whole season. And for his name to continuously come up in trade rumors!!! I don’t blame him it’s not about the money it’s about treating him with the respect that he has earned.
JC brings up an interesting point. Nash is also reliant Marion and Stoudemire, maybe as much as they are on him. No doubt they’re all fantastic players separately, but they’re nearly transcendent when they play together. It really is beautiful basketball. This is why I feel like this isn’t nearly enough of a reason for him to want to leave a fantastic basketball situation with subpar owner relations to go play with Kobe, who himself has been asking to be traded. Respect is certainly important, but I’m not sure going to Kobe-land really addresses that.
Sarver, the owner, will not be happy until he has the cheapest payroll in the NBA. He is a banker, what do you expect. He forecloses on widows for a hobby.
