Sheff and Me Have Been Talking It All Over. Wherever the Hell Bolivia is, That’s Where We’re Off To.

When it became painfully obvious that the Pistons were not going to win game six, I started rooting for my plan B. If the Pistons can’t win, at least ‘Sheed could put on a show. Pistons, it’s the end of an era of Eastern Conference reliability, and it’s ending at the hands of Anderson Varejao. Go down in a blaze of glory, it’s the only way. ‘Sheed did exactly what was needed.
Varejao drew another foul on a ridiculous flop. And it happened. You could see it in Rasheed Wallace’s crazy, crazy eyes. He was not going to be playing in the conference finals for much longer. ‘Sheed somehow got to the defense end before receiving his first technical. Then he got his second. Then he was done. Even if the Pistons were to somehow win, he’d miss game seven. ‘Sheed snapped, and it was the best thing the Pistons did in the whole series. Guns blazing, Roscoe left Quicken.
In another Detroit-Cleveland series, Gary Sheffield was suspended for throwing a fraction of a bat, well, at the ground. Sheffield is not taking this lying down. His guns are blazing as well.
“Umpires do lie, too,” said Sheffield, who appealed the suspension and was in the Tiger lineup Friday night. “(Gibson) just told a bald-faced lie. He ‘s a bald-faced liar.”
Damn straight Sheff! Anything else?
“Where I’m from, you can’t control us. You might get a guy to do it that way for a while because he wants to benefit, but in the end, he is going to go back to being who he is. And that’s a person that you’re going to talk to with respect, you’re going to talk to like a man.”
Sheff and Roscoe, the man’s always trying to keep them down. Detroit is the perfect place for them. That me-against-the-world mentality that made Sheffield and ‘Sheed pariahs on other teams make them fan favorites here. You know why? Because sometimes the world is out to get you. And sometimes you have to go someplace like Bolivia. And sometimes you have to go down shooting.

I agree, Sheed did the right thing. Varejao is ine of the many things that makes the NBA look bad. The game is changing and it’s because of flop-artists like Varejao ruining the NBA. I hated this series.
