Shia LaBeouf: Wii “an Amateur Console”

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen dominated at the box-office this weekend but star, Shia LaBeouf, says that he isn’t willing to play the video game based on the film – if it’s on the Nintendo Wii. To further express his distaste for the version, he said he’d rather “eat glass” than pick up a copy.![]()
When I read more about it, I realized that Shia’s dislike for the Wii had some basis. If you remember, the actor suffered a serious injury to his hand (he will never fully recover) so I can imagine that using the Wii could be tough. Shia explains: “I haven’t been able to play the Wii game because my hand is broken…I would imagine that the Wii experience will be like…”
He didn’t stop there, though. While he praised the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, he had some harsh words for the Nintendo console: “I don’t mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It’s kind of an amateur console. I’m not into the Wii thing.”
Wow. Tell us how you really feel, Shia!
The interviewer asked about LEGO Indiana Jones (which I loved!) but he basically echoed the same sentiments: “The LEGO Indiana Jones I’m not going to speak on, but my feelings aren’t very different.”
