Should Danica Patrick be Hot or Heavy?

The Indy Racing League just implemented a rule likely to send Danica Patrick fans running to their 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for comfort. And IRL officials shouldn’t be surprised if a particularly die-hard contigent of them storm the next board meeting wielding pitchforks and rolled up SI’s.
Why?
Well, the new rule is that minimum car weight must include the weight of the driver. That doesn’t sound too bad . . . except when you consider that there’s a 65-pound difference between Danica and the heaviest IRL driver. (Psst . . . Hey Pat, thanks for sending this our way!)
So what’s a petite hottie to do? Bulk up with Ensure and take eating lessons from “Big Bubba” at Carl’s Cardiac Diner, where a single meal portion could feed a town in Idaho for three days? Or should she enter hot dog eating contests to play catch-up?
Yeah, yeah, they’ll probably just add some stuff to the car to reach the minimum weight but you have to admit, a lot of guys out there just got very excited at the mental imagery of Danica eating a hot dog . . .

What if Danica develops an eating disorder from this?! DANICA IS A NATIONAL TREASURE, AND I AM TERRIBLY CONCERNED!!! haha not really, but it is an odd issue.
just a thought, but doesnt this actually give danica an advantage because she CAN add things to her car… useful things i mean. i know that in general the lighter the car the better but if everyones car is going to be that heavy anyways wouldnt she end up ahead??
McBias–You know, there are people who would argue that Danica really is a national treasure. . .
s11–Good point, and it really is an interesting issue . . . this could possibly be to her advantage. Stay tuned on this one, as I don’t think the controversy is over.
