Should the Georgia-Alabama game be canceled?

September 26, 2008 by Tony Baldwin

A news station in Atlanta is reporting that a petroleum executive has requested that Governor Sonny Perdue cancel the Georgia and Alabama football game Saturday due to the gas shortages in Georgia.

If you have a ticket for this event, it would be wise to carpool or get there early if you are planning on needing any gasoline for the trip, since they are worried that not all travelers will be able to fill up at the pumps.

Do you think Gov. Perdue will cancel the game?

Of course he won’t cancel the game (check out http://www.ajc.com). I’m not in Atlanta or Athens, but I have lived through many hurricanes in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Officials always say “We’re going to run out of gas,” and it never happens. Hurricanes are no fun, but we’ve got to get on with our lives. I think Tex Pitfield has it out for Governor Perdue!
