Show Desktop Icon

Ever wonder how to create the “Show Desktop” shortcut that was conveniently in the taskbar in Windows 2000 but somehow disappeared in Windows XP? The easy solution is to use the Windows-D shortcut key. If you need the visual cue of an icon, try this tip from a reader:

1. Click Start , click Run, type notepad, and then click OK.
2. In Notepad, type the following text on individual lines:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop
3. Click File, click Save As, and then save the file to your desktop as Show Desktop.scf.
