Six Flags To Open Theme Amusement Park In Dubai
Company Hopes to Bring Unique Concept of ‘Having Fun’ to Other Arab States
Six Flags, which has lost money every year since 1998, is looking to boost its presence in overseas markets.
Questioned about the wisdom of water rides in a desert country that has scarcely enough water for drinking, a Six Flags spokesman noted, “Diversifying into foreign countries will allow us to lose money in ways we can’t even imagine.”
The company is looking to tailor many of its popular attractions for a foreign audience. In the United States, the “dunking booth” features a person suspended over a large tank of water. Players throw balls at a target in an attempt to dunk whoever is sitting on the seat.
Six Flags is expected to reconfigure this attraction for a mostly radical Muslim audience by implementing a “stoning booth” which doesn’t have a seat, protective cage or any water. Non-virgins will be pelted directly with rocks — all in the name of fun and charity.

The company, which markets a number of rides in conjunction with Warner Brothers cartoon characters, also expects the Wile E. Coyote suicide bomber roller coaster to be a big hit. The ride is a 12-minute thrill ride that culminates with the coaster exploding as it crashes into a simulated U.S. embassy.
Company officials also announced plans for a Six Flags Cuba where the water slide would send ticket holders down a long water spout pointed toward Florida.
Wall Street analysts pointed out the only Great Adventure associated with Six Flags is investing in its stock.
