Six Ways to Make a Good Email Signature: How It Affects Your Brand

email-delete.jpgIn response to my fellow b5media blogger, Tris Hussey’s post on Pimp Your Work, about the Six Ways to Make a Good Email Signature, I started to think about how important these tips are in terms of your personal or business brand that is attached to the email.

In his post, Tris discusses several ways to make your email signature better.  Interestingly, all of the tips focus on keeping your email signature simple.  In copywriting, I’m a firm believer in using the KISS (keep it simple stupid) technique, and clearly this technique carries into most aspects of business communications these days.

Let’s face it.  People are very busy and have little time to filter through extraneous details.  Consumers, clients and people in general seem to prefer a simple, straightforward approach in spoken and written communications.  Keep that in mind as you create communications tied to your brand.  Sometimes, less really is more.
