Skype Founders Face Racketeering Charges

Skype has been a godsend for so many people, but its founders are sleaze. It’s fairly well known that they were involved with Kazaa a few years ago, and those who follow P2P networks back then may remember the big stink between Morpheus, another P2P and Streamcast (which was in bed with Kazaa).
At any rate, the Skypers are now in touble again – this time over Streamcast/Kazaa technology being used in Skype itself. The bigtime aspect of this is that the charges are RICO releated, or charges having to do with organized crime.
To quote Woody Allen, “It is no secret that organized crime in America takes in over forty billion dollars a year. This is quite a profitable sum, especially when one considers that the Mafia spends very little for office supplies.”
