Skype Teams With PayPal To Offer Online Payments To Users

Well it was only a few months back in February that I first mentioned Skype may be getting online payments. From Reuters, we now hear that Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom announced Tuesday they are going to soon allow Skype users to send money via PayPal. Skype-PayPal will function as a money transfer service for users. This will be very convenient for their 170+ million registered Skype users.

PayPal is already the most popular method with Skype users to pay for their long-distance. Company representatives have declined to say exactly when the new service will go live.

This announcement was Tuesday and today being Thursday, I’m surprised that Rachel Ehrenfeld, over at the Terror Finance Blog has not already labeled it a terrorist financing tool.

I think that’s going to be awesome. Just imagine how many users have their money in Paypal!
