Sneek peek at OpenOffice.org 3.0

OpenOffice.org 3.0 Beta is expected to be released this coming April 30, 2008. [ source ] And at OpenOffice.org Ninja, a visual peek and some key features of this upcoming beta release has been provided by Andrew Ziem.

It has a new Splash Screen, of course, and a new Start Center – quite neat. Some key features Andrew Ziem showcased are the following:

  1. View multiple pages in Writer
  2. Pretty notes in the margin
  3. Microsoft Office 2007 file format support
  4. Solver in Calc
  5. New theme in Calc
  6. Native tables in Impress
  7. Error bars in charts
  8. More columns in Calc

These are not just the key improvements with the upcoming release of OpenOffice.org 3.0. There are lots to mention here but please read OpenOffice.org Ninja for detailed feature descriptions and other features as well.
