Snort your Microsoft Office Documents with OfficeCat

Do you want to make sure that your Office files are safe? Try using OfficeCat, developed by SourceFire, is a tool for snort intrusion detection system.

OfficeCat provides reference information on discovered vulnerabilities so users can remediate risks. By detecting these hostile files before they are opened, OfficeCat enables users to proactively increase the effectiveness of their security efforts.

OfficeCat works for both Windows and Linux.

To use OfficeCat, please do the following:

1. Unzip the archive
2. Open a command shell
3. Execute the tool executable with a document name for checking

Sample results for a vulnerable document are shown below:
